ERPC Completes Solana-Oriented EPYC VPS Performance Upgrade in Chicago Region — Achieving up to 25% Improvement through Virtualization Architecture Overhaul

ELSOUL LABO B.V. (Headquarters: Amsterdam, the Netherlands; CEO: Fumitake Kawasaki) and Validators DAO have announced the completion of a performance upgrade for Solana-oriented VPS products in the ERPC Chicago region.
This initiative optimized the CPU, memory, and storage layers to comprehensively improve cache efficiency, memory access, and storage I/O bandwidth. As a result, workloads that heavily utilize CPU cache—such as those on Solana—showed notable gains, with an average performance improvement of 10–25%.
Strategic Role of Chicago in North America
Located in the U.S. Midwest, Chicago serves as a central communications hub with equal accessibility to both the East and West Coasts.
Leveraging this geographical advantage, ERPC positions the region as a key hub for efficiently relaying and distributing RPC, gRPC, and Shredstream traffic across North America.

In this update, ERPC refined resource allocation and data processing paths to improve responsiveness and stability under high traffic.
By reorganizing internal data flows, cache and memory reuse efficiency were enhanced, leading to measurable improvements in access performance.
Additionally, expanded storage I/O bandwidth improved throughput for concurrent access workloads.

Preparation for 10Gbps network compatibility has also been completed, and the upgrade will be automatically applied to all VPS instances once the data center’s uplink expansion is finalized.
Low-Latency Communication Across North America via DoubleZero

The Chicago region is directly connected to the high-speed DoubleZero CHI–SLC–LAX private fiber route linking the U.S. Midwest to the West Coast.
DoubleZero is a dedicated optical network interconnecting Solana validators and RPC nodes, used by more than 200 validators including Coinbase and Galaxy.

By utilizing this private backbone, ERPC minimizes the congestion and route fluctuations common on the public internet, ensuring stable, low-latency communication throughout North America.
The CHI–SLC–LAX route was further reinforced, significantly improving east–west data transmission efficiency.

Virtualization, Network Control, and CPU Allocation Optimization

This performance enhancement was achieved without changing hardware, through a full redesign of the virtualization architecture, I/O control, and scheduling logic.
A new CPU allocation scheme increases cache utilization efficiency and reduces memory access latency.

- Complete overhaul of virtualization architecture, achieving 10–25% average performance improvement
- 10Gbps network-ready configuration completed
- Dynamic routing based on real-time ping latency for optimal path selection
- Strengthened nftables-based security logic for automatic anomaly detection and blocking
- Updated bandwidth ceilings across RPC, gRPC, and Shredstream interfaces
These optimizations deliver higher throughput and greater stability across all connection types—RPC, gRPC, and Shredstream alike.
Solana RPC Bundle Plan

The Bundle Plan enables integrated access to HTTP, WebSocket, gRPC, and Shredstream interfaces under a single subscription.
It allows developers to flexibly test and migrate from traditional RPC to high-speed Shredstream connections.

Stream Bundle Plan

The Stream Bundle Plan employs UDP-based transmission to handle Shreds via the fastest possible route.
With DoubleZero optimization, this structure minimizes jitter and packet loss, ensuring superior real-time performance.

Challenges Addressed by ERPC and Validators DAO
- Transaction failures and latency fluctuations in RPC environments
- Performance throttling by many infrastructure providers
- High impact of network distance on communication quality
- Limited accessibility of high-quality infrastructure for small projects
During the development of the open-source Solana NFT card game project Epics DAO, the team faced the lack of accessible, high-performance Solana infrastructure.
To solve this, they built their own platform and now provide ERPC and SLV based on that experience.

Financial and trading applications are particularly mission-critical—where delays and errors directly affect user experience.
ERPC provides the high-performance development foundation required for such use cases and continues to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the Solana ecosystem.
